Can I Carry You?

I guess that I can hold you
one more time before you grow.
And tell you that I love you so that you will always know.
Please let me tie your shoe again.
One day you'll tie your own.
And when you think back to this time I hope it's love I've shown.
Can I help you put your coat on?

Can I please cut up your meat?
Can I pull you in the wagon?
Can I pick you out a treat?
One day you might just care for me, so let me care for you.
I want to be a part of every little thing you do.
Tonight could I please wash your hair?
Can I put toys in your bath?
Can I help you count your small ten toes before I teach you math?
Before you join a baseball team can I pitch you one more ball?
And one more time can I stand near to make sure that you don't fall?
Let's take another space-ship ride
up to the planet Zoor.
Before our cardboard rocketship doesn't fit us anymore.
Please let me help you up the hill
while you're still too small to climb.
And let me read you stories while you're young and have the time.
I know the day will come
when you will do these things alone.
Will you recall the shoulder rides and all the balls that we've thrown?
So will you let me carry you?
One day you'll walk alone.
I cannot bear to miss one day from now until you've grown.

The Big Boy Club...

Is it possible? Can it be true?  Should I even think it? Should I even believe it?
All signs though are pointing to a resounding... YES!!!!!
Drum roll please...
Our house is officially diaper free!!! Well,  minus the one we use at night time still. Although, Hudson has managed to keep that one dry for several nights now too!!!
Other than that...we are DONE!!!!!
Done, Done, Done with diapers!
YUP, this little guy, who by the way is totally obsessed with Lightening McQueen, potty trained like a real CHAMP!
A true CHAMP, I tell ya!
Within a few short days, he totally got the hang of it!
I'm so proud of him!
He's had minimal accidents, and is very proud to officially be a part of the BIG BOY club now!
And with the two little ones OUT of diapers, I'm dreaming up ways I can spend that extra cash in our budget now!
Bi-weekly pedicures are sure sounding nice---HA!!!!!

"Hold You, Mommy"

Anytime my sweet Hudson wants me to pick him up, he extends his little arms up to me and says, "Hold YOU, mommy"!
I LOVE it!!!
I know that one day, all too soon, he'll figure out how to ask correctly, and I'll long to hear him say
"Hold YOU, mommy" again!!
I love the song "Hold you, mommy"
by Laurie Lovejoy Hilliard and Sharon Lovejoy Autry
I have it on cd and EVERY time I hear it I cry!
My heart is filled with joy, as I hold you in my arms,
knowing all you want and all you need is truly found in me.
God's precious gift of love is all wrapped up in you,
I want to raise you up to love the Lord, the way he wants me too!
I'll cherish each and every time I hold you in my arms.
I know the days are passing much too fast.
But when this time has come and gone I'll hold the memory,
of you little arms extended up to me...
"Hold you, mommy"
"Hold you, mommy"
Safe within your arms of love is where I want to be.
"Hold you, mommy"
"Hold you, mommy"
Just like the Father up above, surround me with you perfect love...again
When you fall and skin your knee and come running back to me,
I want to be the one to wipe your tears, kiss your hurts, and calm your fears.
When you wake up in the night and cry out in the dark
I want to hold you close, whisper in your ear
"Everything will be alright"!!
I'll cherish each and every time I hold you in my arms.
How I know the days are passing much too fast.
But when this time has come and gone I'll hold the memory, of you little arms extended up to me...
I know there will come a time when I won't hold you in my arms.
You won't need my hugs or want them anymore.
Oh how I want my arms to always be a refuge in your eyes
no matter where you roam, or the changes in your life!
"Hold you, mommy"
"Hold you, mommy"
Safe in your arms of love is where I want to be.
"Hold you, mommy"

"Hold you, mommy"

Just like the Father up above, surround me with you perfect love...again

Summer is coming...

Although summer isn't officially here yet, the weather is definitely telling us otherwise!

Our neighborhood pool is open, but I have yet to take the kids for a swim there. I heard the water is still a bit on the chilly side, so we are going to wait a few more days and hope it warms up a little before we jump in!

Yesterday we hit near 90 degree's though, so it was definitely time for some water fun to cool us off! I pulled the kiddie pool out of the garage, set up the sand and water table, and then turned on the sprinkler.

Oh my goodness were my kids in water heaven!

They played and had fun in the backyard for nearly two hours!

Yes, summer is just around the corner and soon our days will be filled with fun in the sun!
CANNOT WAIT!!!!!

Fun at the library

Every Tuesday morning, the babies and I head to the library for toddler story time.  Each week we dance, sing, play games, and YES even do a little reading too!

The babies LOVE it and I enjoy watching them grow and learn each week.

At the beginning of the year they had a hard time sitting still and listening to the entire story that was being read, but I have noticed recently that their attention span is growing and they are listening better now!

Of course, the best part of library time is the bubbles after class!!!

An afternoon at the park...

Spring is here and we are enjoying every minute of it!

We basically live outside these days and only come in to sleep.

And when we do sleep, it's hard and deep because we are flat worn out from being outside all day long!!

 Ahhh...I just heart SPRING TIME!

The other morning, I took the babies out for a nice long walk. At the end of our walk, we stopped by the neighborhood park to play for a while before heading home.

 The babies LOVE the park!
While we were there, they each found a basketball laying around and had a blast running, kicking, chasing and throwing their ball around.
I just stood there watching (and snapping pictures of course)
and I was once again remind just how incredibility blessed I truly am!

These two...

The other day I overheard the sweetest little conversation going on between these two.

I had just finished doing Sophie's hair when Hudson walked into the bathroom...

Hudson: "FiFi (what Hud calls Sophie) beary pweety."
Sophie: "Thank you uh-Hud" (what Soph calls Hud)
Hudson: "You welcome FiFi"
Me:{Heart Melting}

I just ADORE these two!!

Down the toilet...

Hudson has just recently developed quite an infatuation with the... ahem...
toilet.

Today...JUST today alone, I have fished out a sippy cup lid, two full rolls of toilet paper, a Tom and Jerry dvd (which belonged to the library---ugh!), a toilet paper roll, and a bath towel out of the commode!

All from different toilets, and all found at different times of the day!

We keep the bathroom doors closed (for the most part), but that's not a deterrent anymore.
No, Hud's figured out how to open the door now!

This kid is seriously driving me CRAZY;)

What a little stinker!

The babies...

It was so..........beautiful out this morning, so after we dropped Riley off at preschool, the babies and I headed to the path in our neighborhood for a walk. It also proved to be the perfect morning for a photo op, so I snapped a few!

It seems like I've been posting A LOT about the big kids lately and haven't really blogged about my sweet babies much.

Bless their little hearts---sometimes it seem like they are just along for the ride as we cart the big kids here and there to their various activities. They are such good sports though and LOVE being with the big kids. Whether we are walking the kids to school, cheering them on at a soccer game, or playing in the backyard after school, anywhere the big kids are, the babies are normally not far behind!!!

One big change that took place this year is that three days a week it's just US. I mean, the three older kids are in school, so it's just me and my two sweet babies.

It's NEVER been just me and the babies before, so I'm definitely LOVIN' our little bit of time together.

They are getting so.......BIG!!

Hudson will be 17 months this week and

our Sophie girl turns the BIG 2 on THURSDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh.my.goodness!!!!
I just can't believe it!

I've just recently notice them actually playing together. Most of the time they play beside each other, but lately I've noticed them playing TOGETHER.

They laugh, share (well, not ALL the time-lol) and talk with each other.

It just melts this momma's heart!!!!

I feel so blessed to call these two mine and love watching them grow, learn, and LOVE TOGETHER!!!!!!
