Okay...so seriously--- this will be my last post about these dresses, but it just wouldn't be fair to you, if I didn't give you a chance to see Miss Sophie (in all her cuteness) modeling my latest creation!
So I have been wanting to try and make Sophie a pillow case dress for some time now. They are just darling, and I thought it would be fun to try and make her a dress for Valentines Day. I found this great blog that gives very easy step by step instructions. Then I headed to Hobby Lobby to buy some fabric. Most of their fabric's are 30% off right now! I decided if I was going to make her one, I might as well do a few more, right!?!?! I came home and while the kids were napping I got two dresses made!
The giraffe print dress will look even cuter with Sophie's name monogrammed on it in lime green!!
I definitely had my share of trial and errors going on, and I in no way consider myself a great seamstress, but I had fun and I am happy with the end result! I can't wait for Sophie to wear them! I tried them on her when she woke up from her nap and to my surprise-- they actually fit!! I had so much fun that I am going back to the store later to pick up some more fabric so I can make a few more!!
So last night we took the boys roller skating! Everyone had a BLAST-- so much so, that there were tears shed when we told them it was time to go home!
Our local skating rink has Christian music night every Monday night starting at 6:00pm. If you bring with you whatever their "item of the week" is you can get in for $1.oo. What a inexpensive and fun way to spend a cold Monday evening?!?!
This was Riley's first time skating!
He started off REALLY wobbly, but after a little help from Auntie Al--
and from Daddy...he started to get the hang of it!
I think the boys would say their favorite part of the evening was playing red light--green light!
and guess what... Al won the game and got a FREE smoothie!!
Takin' a little break...Roller Skating is hard work!
Sophie and I had a great time just watching from the sidelines!
~I sure hope you are not tired of me posting pictures of our sweetie!~ ~I'm lovin' the black and white photos too, if you haven't noticed!!!~
Today, at her four month check up, she weighed in at a whopping 11 lbs. and 6 oz. and was about 23 inches long.
She still is such a peanut!
If you have met Sophie, then you know that she is a TRUE Mommy's girl. She is happiest and most content when she is in my arms! She cries and cries if anyone else tries to hold her. (Thankfully- for the most part, she doesn't mind if Shane has her! We would really be in big trouble if that were the case!!!)
She is just doing GREAT-- growing and changing more and more every day! I still have moments when I look at her and am totally amazed that she is here and she is OURS!!!!
So my friend Jessica wrote a post entitled 'Not Me Monday". Even though it is now Wednesday, I still decided it would be fun to play along!
On Mondays, you are supposed to blog about the things you did that you normally would not want to admit. You can "pretend" you really did NOT do those things that you actually did do! Make sense?!? Well...here I go...
I, unfortunately, have had several of these moments so far this week.
~ I did NOT attempt to dry Sophie's wet/soiled outfit under the hand dryer at the mall on Monday because I forgot to pack her an extra change of clothes in her diaper bag.
~ I did NOT purposely skip a few pages in Riley's book at nap time yesterday so I could quickly watch the last few minutes of the Bachelor before Corban got off the bus from school!
~ I did NOT make my 3 year old share the leftover brownie batter with me after we made brownies yesterday!
~ I did NOT rock Sophie to sleep again today after I made a commitment to myself that I would try and let her learn to put herself to sleep! (Rocking her is just so much easier!)
~ Corban (our 5 year old) did NOT beat me in Wii tennis and bowling... AGAIN!!!
