A heavy heart this Thanksgiving

I can't even begin to tell you just how thankful I was as we celebrated Thanksgiving this year.
More than EVER before, my heart was overflowing with gratitude to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ,
and for every blessing He has so graciously bestowed upon me.

  I am so undeserving!

And as I celebrated this "day of thanks" with my loved ones, my mind and heart was with my dear friend, Kristan, and her precious family.
I met  Kristan a few years ago while attending one of her classes at the YMCA. She quickly became one of my very favorite instructors and I always looked forward to her Monday morning workouts! She was one of the strongest women I had ever met, and her classes were TOUGH! She knew how to push me and I loved it!!  Kristan and I quickly realized that we had a lot in common too, and so a sweet friendship was formed. She was a mommy of five as well, and her four oldest kids were the exact same ages of my oldest four. She lived right around the corner from us and her kids attended  the same school as mine. She was funny, smart, strong, and such a GOOD mommy. She loved her kids so much and talked about them all the time. She always had the MOST hilarious stories to share and kept me laughing as I could soooooo relate to everything that was going on in her crazy life! Well, right now my sweet friend is in the hospital fighting for her life. I still cannot believe this is happening to her!!!!
I copied and pasted a paragraph from her caring bridge website that explains exactly what's going on.
Last Sunday morning Kristan was not feeling well. She stayed home sick from church Sunday morning. We think she had a combination of the flu and strep throat. Brook (her husband) came home Sunday afternoon from church to find Kristan unconscious in her bed. She was starting to turn blue. She was rushed to Novant Health in Matthews Sunday afternoon. We think that the combination of flu, strep and a medication she was taking worked together to compromise her respiratory system. When there was not enough oxygen, she passed out. Not sure whether aspiration or just the flu symptoms caused double pneumonia. At the hospital, she was quickly incubated to provide a steady supply of oxygen. On Sunday she became progressively worse...the pneumonia progressed to sepsis (blood infection) and her body eventually went into septic shock. Several organs started to shut down. They purposely sedated Kristan (and have kept her that way) so that her body uses all its energy to heal. She is basically in an induced coma right now.
Would you please PLEASE pray for my precious friend. Pray for complete healing! Pray for her strength to return. Pray for her beautiful children and husband. Pray for a miracle!!!!
She does seem to be doing some better today, but it's going to be a very very long road to recovery! We serve an AMAZING God though and I am trusting Him to work this all out for His good and His glory!

Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him, and he will act.
