Pure Sweetness...

Yesterday, we got together with my family for our annual Christmas baking marathon!

Let me set the scene for you...the kitchen is packed with people both big and small.

Sprinkles, frosting, sugar, flour, spatula's and mixing bowls line the counters and table.

Little fingers are...well...they're EVERYWHERE-- reaching, tasting, mixing, and helping!

It's pure chaos AND also PURE joy!

It's Christmas and it's WONDERFUL!

At one point while we were baking, sweet Riley looked up at my mom, and with a huge grin declared..."Mimi, this is the BEST day ever!!!! There is just so... much chocolate!"
Boy was he was right! There was a lot of chocolate!
Chocolate cookies, chocolate covered pretzels, chocolate kiss cookies, chocolate covered Ritz...

The best part though, was the precious little fingers covered in all that chocolate!

Oh.So. Sweet

And talk about sweetness...check out this little PINK bundle.
This is my 2 1/2 week old niece, Brooklyn!
She definitely could not be any sweeter, even if she was covered in chocolate!

I think Sophie Lu is in LOVE!

Love Christmas baking day. We split ours up into smaller increments, as I can handle only so much of the sticky fingers and hands everywhere...I give you a lot of credit for not only taking on baking with your own....but guests to boot! Really impressive. We made our cut outs last night, and will frost them tonight. I'll be remaking the peanut butter ones with the Hershey kisses, as the ones I made Sunday have mysteriously disappeared!! :)

Your niece is just beautiful! My how I forget how small they are. Love all the pictures, especially of your daughter holding her cousin. Priceless!

Much love,
Stacy

What a wonderful memory!! I've always wanted to do this but just haven't had the courage (or the energy to clean up the mess!) Beautiful family and a beautiful new baby! ;)

What a sweet, sweet, special tradition! I love all the little hands in the cookies & frosting & sprinkles...but I'm sure it is just a wee bit crazy! Riley's comment to your mom is just TOO precious! Now I'm sure you are enjoying the sweet rewards of all your efforts yesterday!

Looks like you all have been having tons of Christmas fun! Love all the cute cookies! We have been baking too but I have not taken any pictures. I gues because when you have 2 teenage boys in the house the food does not last long! Esp. sweets!
