"One of those days"...

Today was just an ordinary Monday at our house. The weather was rainy and cool--a stark contrast from the warm sunny days we had over the weekend. Because the weather was so dreary outside, I was grateful that we didn't have anywhere to go. After our weekend, the house was in need of some TLC and the laundry was calling (screaming) my name! And although we didn't go anywhere special or make anything neat, we enjoyed our day just the same.

Oh--- that I would always cherish days like this.
You know...days when the ordinary seems a little extraordinary and the simple can be so sweet.

Here's just a peek at our oh so "ORDINARY" day...

~Baked chocolate chip cookies with my Riley

~Two little boys, who spent the entire afternoon outside playing in the rain.

~They found two earthworms...

named them Butterfly and Rock n' Roll
(not quite sure how they came up with their names- lol)
and built a little home for their new "pets".

~Played peek-a-boo with this guy

and got lots of wet, drooly kisses from him!

~Watched as these two played so sweetly together!

And enjoyed the sound of those precious belly laughs as we played "airplane"!

YES...Today has been one of THOSE days!!!!!

"I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
Psalms 34:1

Those days are the best! The busy days are fun, but I always realize that I don't get to spend much time with my kids. I treasure the quiet days spent at home! Cute pictures...your kids are always so cute and happy!

At first from the title of your post, I thought you had a rough day, but it sounds absolutely delightful! What a wonderful mom you are! I bet the boys had so much fun outside in the rain, I always loved playing in the rain, but must confess that now I often think first of the mess it will make...God has been impressing on my heart recently to live more simply & enjoy the little things more fully, thanks for the great reminder! Every day is a GIFT!

Just wanted to say what a blessing your blog is to
me. Your blog was on a friends favorite blogs list
and that is how I started reading about y'all. It is so
refreshing to hear a stay at home Mom be
so positive and excited about her job. The love
of Christ is very evident in your life. May the Lord
bless you and yours.

So true! My kids would probably much rather have more "ordinary" days then days rushed to here and there! And throwing in cookies is always a hit! You're such a great mom, Jenny!!!
