Ringing in the New Year!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!! It's 2014!!!! How exciting!!!!
I LOVE the fresh, clean feeling that comes with the beginning of another new year. I am one of those people who enjoy making new years resolutions and setting goals for myself and my family.
I like to write them down and also share them with Shane, as he holds me accountable to follow through on my commitments.
But as much as I enjoy the anticipation of the coming new year, I am NOT one who cares much about staying up until midnight to welcome it in;) I am a go to bed early kind of gal;)
So...instead of staying up until 12:00am to celebrate, we stay home, dress in our comfy PJ's, and then choose a place in the world that rings the new year in at 8:00pm!
This year it was Portugal and we had a BLAST partying hard with them!
Our sweet friends, the Robinson's came over to celebrate the beginning of 2014 with us too!
This year, I thought it would be fun to have the kids make a time capsule!
I printed out a questionnaire I found online, and then had the kids answer questions about their favorite things in 2013. After they were finished, they rolled it up and placed it in the capsule.
We also included a hand and foot print for each child, along with their current height for the year in the capsule as well.
It will be so fun to pull our time capsule out next new years eve, read their favorite things from 2013, AND see how much they have grown and changed over the course of another year.
The littles also had fun making a paper plate clock. They glued the numbers down (not necessarily in the right order though;) and then added the moving hands to the middle. We showed them what midnight looked like on the clock, but also told them that they would be sound asleep when it came;)
After eating our taco dinner, we got dressed in our party attire and ready to ring in the new year together!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After a sweet toast to 2014...
and a fun New Years game...
it was time to head outside for firecrackers and confetti showers!!!!
What a fun-filled night and THE perfect way to bring in another New Year!!!!
I CANNOT wait to see what the Lord is going to do IN and through us this year!
We are ready!!!!!!!

What a fun way to celebrate the New Year! We went to a skating party which celebrated the new year at 3:00. It was fun and my nephew and I were snuggled in bed asleep at midnight.
