A little elf magic and the honor roll

Thanks to Pinterest, our elf, Sam has been much more creative and mischievous in his schemes this year than in years past. I guess even Santa's elves search Pinterest for fun and creative ideas to try;) One of my all-time favorite things Sam's done so far was to bring back from the North Pole a letter from Santa, along with some special "magic seeds".
The kids found the letter from Santa and seeds one morning during their usual hunt for Sam.  In the letter, Santa instructed the kids to plant the seeds in a cup of sugar, sprinkle with a dash of salt, and then BE ESPECIALLY GOOD! They had to wait TWO days, but if they followed the instructions perfectly, then something special would grow from those tiny seeds.
You can only imagine their surprise and delight when, on day two, they woke up in the morning only to find Christmas tree brownies growing from the seeds they had planted.
I LOVE a little Christmas magic;)

On a totally different note, one that did NOT involve an ounce of magic, but rather lots of hard work, perseverance, determination, and prayer...
CORBAN MADE THE A HONOR ROLL THIS QUARTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, I'm totally bragging on my boy, but I just can't help it! I'm sooooooo very proud of him! If you remember, Corban had a semi-rough year last year. I talked a little about it here
Anyway, this year has been MUCH better. Corban is not just surviving, but he's THRIVING!!!
So on Friday night, we went out to dinner to celebrate! Cor picked the restaurant and after going back and forth between Outback and Golden Corral, the Golden won.
It was most definitely not my pick, but seriously...
who could blame him.
I mean where else can you eat unlimited amounts of steak and then wash it down with some...
 blue cotton candy?!?!?!?
Yup...everyone enjoyed their meal...

especially the HUGE dessert bar;)
And sweet AK has absolutely no idea what a honor roll is yet, but if it means cotton candy...she is all over it;)

so sweet! Pinterest has contributed to our Elf's shenanigans this year too. It means that Mommy and Daddy have to make sure "Eggo" gets plenty of coffee so he can be alert enough to remember to move each night! ;)

Yes, our elf Buddy has been a bit more creative this year as well. They must have spent some of their off time on Pinterest:) I have been including some pictures of Buddy in my blog posts as well.
