A (REALLY) bad hair day!

So...Monday night we were just going about our usual routine. Shane and I were cleaning the kitchen up after our spaghetti dinner, and the kids were upstairs playing quietly. After finishing up the dishes, we headed upstairs to join the kids. Shane promptly checked on Sophie and Hudson, who were unusually quiet in Sophie's bedroom. They were just fine (or so we THOUGHT) and Shane complimented them on playing so nicely.  Another few minutes went by, and I thought I heard the kids in the bathroom with the water running. This time I went to check on them and to see what they were up too. I found them both playing with the water in the sink. I turned off the faucet, and without paying too much attention, scooted them out of the bathroom-back into Sophie's room to play.
That's when I noticed THIS...
It took me a second to process exactly what I was looking at, but then it hit me.
HIT ME LIKE A TON OF BRICKS and I GASPED!!!!!
It was HAIR...
A HUGE PILE OF BEAUTIFUL GOLDEN BLOND HAIR!!!!!!!!!
I'll give you one guess as to WHO's beautiful locks those were...
Yup...that would belong to my little Goldilocks.
Oh My Goodness Y'all!!!! I'm still in total SHOCK!!!
Apparently, Sophie and Hudson got into Shane's hair trimming kit (which was in a case--tucked underneath a cabinet in the master bathroom). They confiscated the scissors out of it without us even noticing! In a matter of MINUTES...they were able to do some major damage!!!!
First thing Tuesday morning, we were at the salon attempting a "fix"!
Miss Anne did a GREAT job--considering what she had (left) to work with.
The left side is still REALLY, REALLY choppy, but Miss Anne evened it out the BEST she could.
I guess we'll just be sportin' a short little bob while we wait for it all to grow back..SIGH
Today, I went to the store and bought several GINORMOUS bows for my girl.
What isn't "fixable" will at least be hidden by a BIG OLE' BOW!
Oh..what a little STINKER;)

I am cracking up only because I know how you feel! I didn't know whether to laugh or cry when this happened with my girl. She and her cousin had a little fun with hers. It wasn't pretty either.

but I must say your girl looks adorable in a bob!

oh my! I have been wondering if...or when this will ever happen around here.
At least it was fixable and she still looks like a doll. I love it short, it suits her very well :)

The bob is adorable! I am just dreading the day when Emma decides to do this. Those little ones can be so sneaky. :)

Oh my! Thanks for sharing these real everyday sometimes imperfect moments. And I think you did a fabulous job concealing the cut...the new bob and those darling bows are too cute!

I gasped when I saw the pile! Oh my! She wears a bob very well, and at least it wasn't all the way to her scalp :-) Definitely one for the memory book!

Oh girl, I feel your pain. Miss Priss' hair was way down her back and I found her one day with big chunks cut out....I just cried while I chopped all the rest off. Miss Sophie is still one cutie pie! xoxo

Sweet, sweet Sophie is adorable no matter what! But I can totally feel that gasp when you saw that huge pile of hair...that's one of those not so happy Mommy surprises that we all get from time to time! You handled it with much grace!

Thank the heavens above for HAIR BOWS!! I remember when my 3 year old who had hair so long and beautiful did that but she managed to cut underneath making her look like she had UBER thin hair!

NOOOOOOOO!!!!! I was hoping that was Barbie hair! I'm glad you decided to do the bob instead of the mullet. Sophie looks cute as can be no matter what!

Oh my! I'll bet it took you a sec to process it. Lol. I am in shock all the way over here in AZ. :-) she really did a number on it but the hair lady sure did a nice job considering. She looks adorable as always...the biws are a good idea. You just have to laugh it off. Sophs has done it a few times just not that much. Hope you are well. Xo, Jess

Oh, I can totally see that happening at my house! My daughter already has a bob, but she is always noticing the scissors. Luckily, your daughter looks very cute with her new haircut!!

I can totally sympathize with you Jenny. I can't tell you how many times Madison cut her hair when she was young (and not so young - the last instance was just last fall when she decided that she wanted bangs and started cutting them herself.) But sweet Sophie looks absolutely adorable with her short little bob and the big bows.
