Bittersweet Day!

I knew I would be writing this post one day, but that day came all too soon! I thought I had prepared myself to say goodbye, but my heart aches to see him again! I thought I understood what it would feel like to lose someone you love dearly, but the pain took me by surprise!

During the wee hours of the morning last Monday, my precious Grandpa went to sleep on this earth, and woke up in the arms of his beloved Jesus! We were at the beach with my family when we got the news. We knew when we left for our trip that his time on this earth was coming to an end, but we were hopeful  that he would make it through the week. The Lord had other plans though, and as always...His plans are BEST! Over the last week, my family has witnessed first-hand how the Lord orchestrated the timing of my grandfathers homecoming PERFECTLY! Even in the littlest detail, the Lord's presence was felt.

I will miss my Grandpa more than words could ever express! He was the kindest and most gracious man I will EVER know! His generous spirit and giving nature blessed me and my family time and time again! I am so thankful for the lifetime of sweet memories that I shared with him!
I will FOREVER cherish each and every one!
And even though my life feels like a piece is missing now, I know that because of my faith in Jesus Christ, one day soon, I will be reunited with my precious Grandpa again!
Can't wait!!!!

Oh, Jenny. I am so sorry for you and your family. I lost my grandmother 2 years ago in October, and she was a lady who possessed many of the same qualities your grandpa did. She was an amazing woman, and we had a special bond--so I understand some of the pain you are feeling. I will be praying for you, and for your family, as you deal with your earthly loss. Hugs and prayers to you.
