I need your help!
Shane has an upcoming conference scheduled in Orlando, and the kids and I are tagging along. And by kids I mean just me and the boys. The babies are going to stay home and have a BLAST with their grandparents. This is a really quick trip and we thought it would be better for the little ones to sit this one out. We'll go again when they're a little bigger and can enjoy it a little more.
Anyway, this is where I need your help. We only have TWO days to visit any of the parks. One day will definitely be spent at the Magic Kingdom with Shane, but the other day I'll be by myself with the boys.
What park should we visit that day?
Should we do the Magic Kingdom twice, or visit another park?
And if so, what park?
I would LOVE to hear from those of you who KNOW Disney and can help me make this decision!
Thanks y'all!!!

Hey Jenny! I think a full day at Magic Kingdom is MANDATORY!! My kiddos would rather be there than anywhere! If you feel the need to see other places, start at Epcot early and get those boys on the Soarin' ride. Animal Kingdom is fun, but not for a whole day. The Studios might not be too awesome at the age your boys are right now - I don't think I'd waste the time. I would finish your second day at MK just to let them relive the favorites from the first day. Hope that helps!
Animal Kingdom is like visiting a very expensive zoo, and unless they really care about the Pixar characters, then Hollywood Studios would not be a good choice. Magic Kingdom has the most rides, but will also be the busiest! The best advice I can offer is to take advantage of the fast pass system so you can make the most of your time there! The rides that distribute the fast passes will distribute a certain number of tickets for a certain time frame of the day. Like for example, Space Mountain will distribute passes that can be used from 11:00am-12:00pm. If you get those passes then you can't get passes for another ride until the start time on your passes for Space Mountain. But for the more popular rides it definitely helps to cut down wait time, allowing you to get more done in a day! Have a great time with whatever parks you go to!
I would vote for a second day at Magic Kingdom. There is so much to do there that it is hard to do everything in one day. If you really wanted to go to another park, my kids love Epcot. They really seeing all of the other countries. Plus they have the Living Sea that has a Nemo ride. Soarin' is great! Animal Kingdom doesn't hold our interest for a whole day. Have fun!
I agree with everyone! I've been to DisneyWorld 5 times and it is by far my favorite place in the world! Magic Kingdom will be the busiest, but they definetely have the most to do, especially that the boys will love! Really, you can spend both days there and probably won't see everything. If you do want to do a different park, for there ages, i'd probably go with Epcot as well. Universal is probably a little to extreme for them at this age, so those 2 are the ones I'd probably stick with! I'm so jealous, do you think I could fit in your suitcase?!! :)
I vote for Magic Kingdon and Animal Kingdom. We have been 4 times, and those are my favorites every time. I would not do Epcot. I think it would be a little boring for your boys!
Never been, but I'm SO excited for you guys! Can't wait to hear all about it!!
I would vote for Sea World. The shows are so much fun!!!!
At their age, I'd say Magic Kingdom and Sea World. They will LOVE Sea World!! The shows are so good and entertaining for all ages!!
If I had a day by myself with the kids I would definitely go to Seaworld! Growing up in S. Fla I've been at the parks dozens of times and Seaworld is great because there are so few lines and the shows are great, it is very easy to get around, lots of shade and a big open play structure that the kids love. It would be the less stress way to go and it is actually my kids favorite park and they have been to all of them!
Sounds like so much fun! Really you can't loose any park you choose. Have a great time. Enjoy.
Disney is such a blast! I just went in April! We used something called Tour Guide Mike (it's online) and he basically tells you exactly what to do at exactly what time to avoid long lines. Literally to which turnstyle you should enter. It was very helpful and I highly recommend. We also went to Blizzard Beach. If its hot there's nothing better to do than be in the water! Hope that helps!
I must say that my family spent an entire day at Animal Kingdom and just loved it. There was enough to do to keep us all happy, and my children absolutely loved the animals and rides at that park. The safari ride alone is worth going to the park.
Definitely not a pro because I've only been once for one day, but I vote magic kingdom both days. Thats where we went and I felt so rushed and wished we had one more day so I could've enjoyed the visit more.
I would so go to Animal Kingdom...especially with the boys. We went in February and was my 2nd favorite park after the Magic Kingdom. If you want to jam things in...get to Animal Kingdom early and then head over to Magic Kingdom after that for a 2nd round of it. At the Animal Kingdom, head to Safari first - more animals are out in the morning. Have fun!
PS - I never commented before, but I love your blog!
I vote for Magic Kingdom two days!! It is definitely a two day park but the Soarin ride at Epcot is a MUST!! :)
for some time i have not been able to link to your blog! I was so excited tonight when I went down my favorites and it linked right up. your kids are as cute as ever!
Oh Jenny don't get me started. I could give you a book:) From our experience I would say your boys would probably enjoy Hollywood Studios the best, that was Noah's favorite. Lots of action and adventure that is harder to enjoy with the little ones. If you have a hopper pass, do HS in the morning and Magic Kingdom again after the parade (it clears out a bit). Have fun!!
Of course I am not a pro either, but I think Magic Kingdom and Sea World would be my votes! HAVE FUN!
Jenny,
We are headed to Orlando and to WDW tomorrow. I would say spend some time at Animal Kingdom. I don't know that I would go to Hollywood Studios with the boys either; however they have a great laser/water show with all the characters at night. Also, i;m not sure when you are going but David saw that on some of the days at HOllywood Studios they are having special parades with Star Wars characters if Cor and Ri like Star Wars.
I would vote for MK and Hollywood Studios. I would also buy the Unofficial Guide to DW. It is fantastic. We have been twice and used their touring plans both times. We went on the (literally) busiest day of the year and never waited more than 5 minutes in line thanks to their plans. Have fun!
Hi Jenny,
As a mom of an 8, 5, and 3 year old, who lives outside Orlando and LOVES Disney (so much so we have passes!), my opinion is Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. I would make breakfast reservations if possible at Chef Mickey's for the day that your doing Magic Kingdom bc you can take the monorail from there to the park. Chef Mickey's has a character breakfast where all the characters come out and visit each table and sing and dance, my kids love it! At Magic Kingdom try and do Fantasy Land first, it gets the most crowded later! Hollywood Studios has lots for young kids w/ all the Play House Disney shows, Beauty and the Beast and Little Mermaid. My kids also love the Great Movie Ride and Honey I Shrunk the Kids too. H.S probably won't take the whole day so you will be able to go back and enjoy the pool at your hotel, which you will probably want to do bc it is HOT! Mid Ninties! Definitely pack sunscreen, hats and sunglasses! Have Fun!!!
Magic Kingdom 2 days. It's amazing how long you can truly spend at the park and still miss things on day 1. Animal Kingdom is just an expensive zoo. It's very nice, we enjoy it, but wont do it again. If they aren't into all of the Pixar films, no go on Hollywood Studios. Epcot is wonderful but more for adults. It's personally our favorite but not my daughters. Definitely 2 days at Magic Kingdom. It's the best.
