just-the-two-of-us

This weekend, Sophie Lu and I were able to sneak away for a few hours and enjoy a little "girl time". I had several errands to run, and this sweet girl always jumps at the chance to go with me.  So Saturday morning, we grabbed our pocketbooks, waved goodbye to the boys, and headed out the door for a few hours. Right before we left, Shane handed Sophie a ten dollar bill. He told her to buy something special at the store. Now at only two years old, I wasn't sure if Sophie even understood the concept of "money" or what "buying" something actually was. To our surprise, just a second after Shane told her to buy ANYTHING she wanted, she immediately pointed to her feet and shouted "NEW SHOES"--ha! That's my girl! So off we went, errand list in hand, and the addition of "new shoes" written on the bottom of it.

Wal*mart was our first stop. Sophie sat so nicely in the front of the cart, and waited patiently as I crossed off a few items on my list. It wasn't long though before we found ourselves heading to the shoe department. Her eyes literally lit up as we walked up and down the isles seeking out a good deal. Seriously, this girl has a major infatuation with shoes!! Sophie instantly spotted a pair of PINK boots, which she insisted were hers. I was a little reluctant because spring is just around the corner, but the boots were on sale, so we went ahead and got them. I actually got two pairs, in different colors, and in a size up. Hopefully they'll still fit her next year. Sophie was thrilled with the idea of not only coming home with one pair of shoes, but TWO. Judging from the smile on her face, you would have thought I bought that girl the moon;)

And of course this shopping trip would not have been complete without a quick stop by the jewelry department. Yes, my girl LOVES her some bling almost as much as shoes;) She picked out a few pink plastic necklaces and some bracelets to match;)

I had the best time shopping with my little girl. I came home and told Shane that it was such a treat to spend time hanging out with JUST Sophie!!!

I pray everyday for the child/children that God is going to bring into our family, and of course I would seriously LOVE to have another girl. I think it would be AWESOME for Sophie to have a sister around. My sisters are my very best friends, and I can't imagine my life without them. I would love that for Sophie as well. I have no idea who the Lord has planned to join our family, but I know His plan is PERFECT. Right now, I am enjoying my precious LITTLE GIRL, and relishing in the time that we have just-the-two-of-us! In a house that's been taken over by trucks, football, and wrestling matches---us girls have got to stick together;)

Girls are so fun. This morning Sophia proclaimed..."I love clothes shopping!!" I think I've created a monster. :)

Congrats on your choice to adopt again. Can't wait to see what's in store for you guys this time around. You are so right, Gods plan is perfect, it's hard to be patient but knowing it's in His hands puts me at ease.

What a special time. My little Faithy girl loves "shopping" with me, and she too, loves shoes and all the bling!~ She calls the time together "a date." :) Such a treat for both of us amidst all those boys.

Enjoy those precious girlie moments.

Whoever God has planned for your family, will certainly be blessed in all ways. Looking forward with you in anticipation.

Much love,
Stacy

What a great day! Bella is my little shopping helper. She loves a chance to go to the store although her taste usually strays to the donuts over shoes:) I almost never leave a grocery store without donuts when Bella is with me, that's my girl!
