Gum Drops, Sprinkles, and Frosting

My kids have been begging and begging to put together the gingerbread house that's been "hidden" in the back of my pantry for several weeks now. I love putting these houses together, but I was waiting for a quiet moment, when the boys and I could work on it without--uh-- two precious little interruptions. Needless to say that said "moment" that I anticipated never came.

So the other afternoon I decided it was the best time as any just to get the house out and let the kids have at it!

Judging from look on my kids faces when they finally realized I was going to let them decorate, you would have thought Santa himself appeared in my kitchen!

Gun drops, Sprinkles, and Frosting literally covered EVERY nook and cranny of my kitchen. Even though I have vacuumed the hardwood floors a bazillion times, I'm still finding candy sprinkles crunching underneath my feet!!!

I'm really not sure how much of the candy actually made it onto the gingerbread house. There was PLENTY of sampling going on!

At one point I noticed that the left side of the roof was lookin' almost finished.

When I glanced again a few minutes later...it was completely bare!!!!!

Not really sure who the little culprits were--HA!
Two and a half hours, and two jars of spilled sprinkles later...

Our house was COMPLETE!!

They did a FABULOUS job---don't ya think!?!?

They did a great job on the house. I am going to wait a few more years to do one of these with Logan. We may tackle decorating sugar cookies this year.

That is the cutest little gingerbread house that I've seen...but not nearly as cute as your little gingerbread-house-decorators! Love those kids!

They did a great job. Maybe is a silly question, when they ate the gingerbread house? I mean, we want to make one but I have some doubts.
