Celebrations and a Squirrel

So, we have been staying quite busy lately. Most of the things that fill our calendar though, are beginning to come to an end. One of those things was my Tuesday morning Bible study. Tuesday was our last meeting. It was definitely bittersweet having to say goodbye to this great group of ladies. Most of the women, I'll continue to pass in the halls of church, but I'll miss our weekly chats, encouragement, and special time of prayer together. I'm already looking forward to the study starting back up in the fall. Since Tuesday was our last meeting, we enjoyed a yummy brunch and all our kids performed a few special songs for us. Riley was SO..........EXCITED to sing!!!

The kids were adorable. Riley has really enjoyed being part of the study this year. He adores his teacher and looks forward to seeing her each week. Sophie on the other hand HATES Tuesday mornings. She absolutely hates going to the nursery. She starts crying when we pull into the church parking lot!!! For most of the year, I was able to leave her at home with my sister, but a few weeks ago, Al started working on Tuesdays, so Sophie had to go with me to church. I'm not sure who I felt sorry for more...Sophie or the sweet workers who take such good care of her. Yes...Sophie unfortunately is THAT child in the nursery.

Bless her heart. She is just a mama's girl...what can I say. This past Tuesday, they had to come get me. They just couldn't get her to stop crying. Poor baby. I know she's glad Tuesdays are over for a while!!!

On Wednesday, we headed to the park for a picnic and some playtime. While we were eating our lunch a little critter decided he wanted to join us. Seriously, I have NEVER in my life seen a more persistent squirrel.

(Yes...he's eating a goldfish!)
This little guy wanted some of our lunch, and he was not going to take NO for an answer. I tried throwing him some food so he would leave us alone, but NO...he wanted to join us at the table. Oh.my.

Sophie was totally enthralled with this little creature. She would've grabbed him if I would have let her get close enough. Riley on the other hand was quite scared of the little guy!

He kept yelling at the squirrel to "GO AWAY!!!"

Hudson was just mesmerized by the whole event taking place in front of him.
(Riley screaming, Sophie laughing, and me trying to shoo it away!!)

Finally, after about 10 minutes of all the mayhem, the squirrel ran off. I guess he had had enough goldfish, which we threw at him, in attempt to get him to leave us alone!

Last week it was the geese, this week it was a squirrel. Wonder what lovely wildlife we'll encounter next week!?!?!
I'm thinking an indoor playground sounds pretty good---lol!!!

Riley says that sounds like a GOOD idea to him too!

Thanks for the laugh, re: squirrel at the picnic! It cracks me up that Sophie was enthralled with the squirrel. Looking forward to your next picnic/wildlife update! Blessings, Donna

THAT IS FUNNY! Sounds like the squirrels in St. Augustine FL! Ex. you get attacked by lots of them wanting food! Cute pictures of your adorable little ones!

The park pictures are so cute! The squirrel was adorable-I bet the kids got a kick out of that.
Lexie is just like Sophie. She wants to be with me all the time. Preschool is going to be awful the first few days! By the way, her hair looks adorable like that!

Sophie is fearless when it comes to animals...maybe not so much with people? :-) Loved Riley's reaction!!
