Sam, our sweet little Elf , has returned from the North Pole. Each year Sam (the boys named him) arrives the day after Thanksgiving. His sole responsibility is to watch the kids behavior and then fly back to the North Pole to give a report to Santa each night. In the morning, after the boys awake, they discover that Sam has returned from the North Pole and is hiding in a new and different place!This has become such a fun family tradition for us. The boys have been so.......looking forward to Sam's return this year. They have literally been counting down the days for months now.
When they woke up this morning, they bolted out of bed and headed downstairs to see if indeed Sam had returned and where he was hiding.
Riley was the first to spot him-- perched high on the kitchen chandelier.
And YES...it does make a difference in their behavior. They were remarkably good today! Let's hope they keep it up!!!=)Does your family have an elf friend too?

I have heard of this. It is such a cute idea. I may have to do it as well. My kids would love it. It may help the older one believe just a bit longer!

Yes we do the elf as well in our house, Aidan my three old sort of gets the concept so it has been fun! Enjoy the Christmas Season! Take care of those beautiful children.

I think this is a wonderful tradition. It is so neat that the boys have been waiting so long for his arrival. Hopefully the good behavior continues!!!
We can't wait to use "Troy" the elf when Jake gets a little older!
Tonight will be our first night with the elf. We have had him since she was one, but now she'll be able to understand and name him. I'll let you know what she comes up with. Ha.

I first heard of the Elf on the Shelf last year, but we didn't get one...now I'm thinking I need to go out tomorrow to get the book & elf...it does sound like such a fun tradition!
