One way to save $...

With Christmas just around the corner, Shane and I have committed to find ways that we can save money. One of those ways was to learn how to give the boys their haircuts at home. When Shane and the boys need haircuts, it would cost us between $30-$35 dollars. They usually get their haircut about every six weeks of so. Shane decided that we should learn how to cut their hair at home. He went to Walmart and bought some clippers. I was really nervous! I didn't want them to look like LEGO heads after we were done! My brother Steve, has been giving himself, and my other brother Tim, haircuts for a while now. We decided to enlist his help and asked him to come over and give us a quick lesson on how it's done!

We set up a little barber shop in our kitchen and Steve went to town!

My boys thought it was SO... cool that Uncle Steve was the one cutting their hair!
They love Uncle Steve, and we LOVE their new haircuts! It's really easy to do and it will save us some cash!!

Glad they turned out cute. That is a good savings.Lucky for me my mom is a hair stylist,so I get the free hook up for my 4 daughters.I'm sure she will be retiring just when I go grey and really need free color of my own.

Good job on saving money...now just think how much you could save on food if you would do the whole triples?!?!

We're trying the same thing at our house. Todd gave Davis a haircut a few weeks ago and I was so scared, but it turned out so cute. I then got brave and cut the girls hair too. A little harder then doing Davis', but it worked out. Cutting their hair will save us about $60. Glad their haircuts came out cute! You need to post an after picture too.

I wanted to tell you congrats on your little Sophie... God is so Good and so Amazing she looks just like your family. We were also with CAS but ended up doing a private adoption. She is just beautiful!

Just cut Christian's hair this morning! Well... most of it. Being that he is barely One, he moves around A LOT! Good thing your beautiful girl, with all that hair, is a GIRL.. and you can just let it get long and lush!

Tyler came in while I was reading your blog. He said, "Is Cor getting a haircut?" And I said, "Yeah"...then he said, "At HOME????" He didn't have a great experience getting his haircut at home! I ruined it for him. I think he'll be inspecting Cor's hair closely tonight! :-)

Way to go. I love saving money but hate cutting their hair. I still do it, it just takes me a long time to get around to it. They end up looking pretty scraggly by the time it gets cut again. I having a feeling you'll do a lot better than I have.

I will say, my hair cuts are better than the salons. Only because I take a lot of time and they were always rushing it and done in 2 minutes. We'd always find long strands that got missed. Haircuts are so over priced for boys and men.
