Facebook!?!

In order to keep up with our college kids from church, who will be returning to school, Shane (my husband) decided to create both of us Face book accounts. We do not have any experience with Face book, but understand it to be a great way to keep in touch. Shane had to called my sixteen year old sister and asked her to explain to us exactly what Face book was and how it worked. (This is how out of the loop we truly are...) Anyway, he came home last night and created our accounts. This morning I had about 6 emails from people I haven't talked to in years, asking if I would "Be there friend?"--- that's Face book lingo=)!! It was amazing! I haven't heard from some of these people in like five or six years. Most of them are from our old church where Shane and I met about eight years ago. What a treat is was to hear from them. It's been so much fun to see pictures and read about what's going on in their lives today. What a neat way to connect with old friends again!

It will be a good way to keep up with your college group. You sound so funny though like it is the "new thing"! You will be surprised at who you will hear from now. Matt joined a few months ago. He said he never would. Now he is always talking to old friends from HS. Have fun! Off to school...

How funny, I just opened myself an account 2 days ago so I could keep in touch with all my teenage neices and nephews. I couldn't believe how many "friends" I've found since...where have I been?

I don't have a facebook (the whole name/privacy name thing for us), but I'm always amazed at who people get in contact with on there. :)

I would consider myself fairly "computer literate", but I don't quite understand how facebook works! I need to learn all the "lingo" Ha! Maybe I'll see ya on there!
