"Let them be little..."

LOVE this song!
And it just seemed fitting for the fun-filled day we had yesterday!!!
~I can remember when you fit in the palm of my hand.
You felt so good in it; no bigger than a minute.
How it amazes me you're changin' with every blink.
Faster than a flower blooms, they grow up all too soon.
So let them be little,
'Cause they're only that way for a while.
Give 'em hope, give them praise,
Give them love every day.
Let 'em cry, let 'em giggle,
Let 'em sleep in the middle,
Oh, but let them be little.

I never felt so much in one little tender touch.
I live for those kisses, your prayers an' your wishes.
An' now you're teachin' me how only a child can see.
Tonight, while we're on our knees, all I ask is:

Please, let them be little,
'Cause they're only that way for a while.
Give them hope, give them praise,
Give them love every day.
Let 'em cry, let 'em giggle,
Let 'em sleep in the middle,
Oh, but let them be little.
The so innocent, precious soul:
You turn around, an' it's time to let them go.
So let them be little,
'Cause they're only that way for a while.
Give them hope, give 'em praise,
Give them love every day.
Let 'em cry, let 'em giggle,
Let them sleep in the middle,
Oh, but let them be little.

Take me out to the ball game

I don't want to say it!!! I don't want to think it!! I don't even want to type it!!!
But being in denial is not going to change it!
Our summer is coming to an end AND I'M NOT READY!!!!
We've had a GREAT summer though and tried to make the most of every single minute!

One of our MOST favorite things this summer has been spending time at the ball fields.
Both Shane and my sister KK played in our church's softball league this season.
Watching them play their game each week was a fun high light of our summer!
And because most of the team was made up of members from our Adult Life Group, there was never a shortage of friends to hang out with during each game!
We are so proud of our team!
They've played pretty well this season and we have had fun cheering them on from the sidelines!!
And to celebrate a wonderful and fun-filled season...
the kids baked baseball cupcakes for the game on Friday night.
(What do you think about my two topless chefs??)
The boys worked diligently all Friday afternoon frosting and decorating!
They took their time and added detail to each cupcake;)
They were super excited to share them with their friends during the game that night!
Judging from the looks of it, the babies sure did enjoy the boys hard work:)
Not only did we enjoy a sweet treat, but our team tasted sweet victory as well!!
It was a close game, but we were able to come home with the win!!!
Nothin' like SWEET SUCCESS;)

Tea with a Princess

Some days I look at this BEAUTIFUL little girl and think...
WOW, I cannot believe that she's MINE!!!
I can't believe that God chose ME to be her mommy!
 I am SO incredibly BLESSED!
Today was one of those days!!!
Oh how I LOVE having a GIRL!!!!
Thank you Jesus for my sweet Sophie Hope!

Today, my sweet girl and I had the opportunity to dress up in our finest,
because we were invited to tea with a princess;)
Today, we headed to a one of our area's most beautiful hotels in order to
celebrate this Princess's 5th birthday!
Introducing the BEAUTIFUL Princess Carolina.
Is she not the sweetest FIVE year old you've EVER seen?!?!?
The afternoon was PERFECT!
The room was lovely and the food was heavenly!
We indulged in a beautiful assortment of
tea sandwiches and petit fours!
While the mommies were given a menu of wonderful teas to choose from, the girls sipped chocolate milk or hot cocoa (with marshmallows) out of their very own fine china tea cup!
I was a nervous wreck y'all and begged the Lord to NOT let Sophie have a major spill OR break any of the gorgeous china!
Praise the Lord... our afternoon was accident FREE!!!
The mommies---Stephanie, Ginger and me!
What a wonderful afternoon it was and I am grateful for the precious memories that Sophie and I made.
Memories that will surely last a lifetime!
Happy 5th Birthday Carolina!

Oh A Camping We Will Go...

~No bears, no bugs or snakes around,
But we'll have fun sleeping on the ground!
Mom is thankful there's nothing icky to worry about,
'cause this will be a camp IN, not a camp OUT;)"~
Today is National Smores Day!
How AWESOME is that!?!?
In my opinion though, you can't celebrate smores without a camp out right!?!?
So in honor of this oh so SWEET holiday--we decided to do just that!

Now y'all, I'm all about sleeping outside under the stars, but in this 100 degree heat, sleeping in the air condition sounds much more appealing to me;)
But just because we're camping inside tonight, that doesn't mean our experience had to lack in authenticity!
No sirree!

We pitched a tent... in our living room!

Had a visit from a "wild" animal;)
Ate roasted hot dogs for dinner...that were precooked on the stove!

Roasted marshmallows over an open fire!

And the best part...
We indulged in some yummy S'MORES/brownies for dessert!

 Yup...total ooey gooey deliciousness!
I found a GREAT recipe here and the boys helped me put these together this afternoon!!!!

And in keeping with our camping/outdoorsy theme of the day...

the boys also had fun putting together a bird house this afternoon!
We can't wait to hang them up in the backyard and see who will make these their home!

Happy National Smores Day Everyone!
