A "Southern" Snow Day

So yesterday, the Carolina's were hit by a wintry "storm"!
We don't usually get much snow around here,
but after so many down right frigid days this winter, it's was a fun and welcomed treat to see a little of the white stuff!
There wasn't much snow, and most of it was ICE, but it was all that was needed for school to be cancelled!!
We LOVE us some SNOW DAYS!!!!
There is an AWESOME hill up at the kids school, which was coated in the perfect mixture of snow and ice.
It was the best place for sledding.
We may not have been able to build a snowman (this time around),
but we did have hours of sledding fun to keep us busy.
And how sweet is this?!?
A "free" hot chocolate stand set up on the corner by some of our precious neighbors.
After several hours out in the elements, a nice cup of hot cocoa totally hit the spot!
Days like this are PERFECT for fort building, dress up and playing pretend with friends.
So thankful for sweet snow days, cozy time at home and the FUN memories we made while it was here!!

Our Valentine Weekend!

We've enjoyed such a wonderful Valentine weekend! February 14th is also my birthday, so that kind-of makes this day doubly sweet!
The kids have been so precious and have showered my with lots of birthday wishes, hugs and sweet kisses all day long!
Friday night, Shane and I were able to score a DATE NIGHT!!! My parents kept the kiddo's while we enjoyed a nice dinner out! After dinner, we headed over to a local pottery place to try our hand at their new glass fusing. We had a ton of fun being creative, while working on a serving platter together. I can't wait to pick it up in a few days and see how it turned out!
Saturday, we did a little park hopping and spent lots of time outside.
And since it was Valentine's day, we snacked on the heart cookies Mimi made for us, while playing on the playground!
I seriously don't think there's a sweeter way to spend my birthday than outside with these guys!
They make my face smile and my heart melt.
Saturday night, we enjoyed our traditional Valentines Day dinner.
The kids had a blast creating their own heart shaped pizza's
and adding their own personal variation of toppings.
Hudson isn't a huge fan of the crust, so he decided to put his toppings on the edges ONLY
"So it would taste better."!
I think he may be on to something;)

 Growing boys sure can EAT!
I seriously think this boy has hollow legs;)
After dinner, we had fun playing a few Valentine themed "minute to win it" games!
Shane totally beat me in the conversation heart stacking game.
And check out that sweet cutie patootie cheesing it up in between us. Sigh...I melt!
For dessert, we pulled out our chocolate fountain and enjoyed some delicious fondue!

 Yup...hollow legs, for sure;)

My sweet Sophie girl LOVES her some chocolate!
And how sweet is this?!? ALL this beautiful artwork was made especially for ME, by my sweet kiddo's, for my birthday. It was on display when I came upstairs after cleaning up the kitchen last night. That one on the far end...the one that isn't colored, well, that's for me to color WITH them later on;)
And I just LOVE this precious picture with they change taped to it. It's from my sweet Hud! He wanted to give me some birthday money so I could go buy myself something special!!!
Oh...I just LOVE that boy of mine.
I am one blessed girl;)
Blessed with another year of God's abundant grace,
and blessed to share such a sweet day with these little LOVES!

Some Valentine FUN!

Today, my sweet Hudson had his 100th day of preschool. His class celebrated by dressing up like they were 100 years old. How FUN! Hudson was so excited and has been anticipating this day for several weeks now.  As a way of keeping track of the days, Hudson's class added a new piece to a caterpillar they have on the wall each school day. Now that there are 100 pieces, the caterpillar stretches halfway around the room.
Hudson also had his Valentines Day party today too.
This sweet girl and I headed up to his school this afternoon to celebrate with his T-K class.
Addy LOVES going to Hudson's school and talks about it being "her school" next year.

She CANNOT wait for T-K!!!
And by the time she gets there, she's gonna be a PRO;)
Hudson has THE sweetest class and THE BEST teachers EVER!
 I am so thankful!
The kids had so much fun at the V-day party today.
They enjoyed some yummy treats, made a craft, and even did a science experiment with conversation hearts.
What a fun time celebrating Valentines Day with this little LOVE!
I am so blessed!

Countdown to Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is just around the corner (YAY), and the kids and I are soooo EXCITED!
(We are especially excited to have Shane HOME!
He's been traveling for the past three weeks or so, so having my LOVE home makes my heart so incredibly H-A-P-P-Y!!!)
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Valentine's Day. I always have so much fun browsing Pinterest with my kiddo's, and helping them pick out special Valentines to make for their classmates.
Each one of my kids picked out something different this year, and each one matches their personality perfectly;)
Love it!
Last Friday, my amazing sister hosted a sweet little Valentine party.
Addy-Kate and Hudson were beyond excited and couldn't wait to make their sweet Valentines for their friends.
They picked out these adorable Mickey and Minnie Mouse Valentines.
(Those are Hersey bars wrapped like Mickey and Minnie;))
Aren't they C-U-T-E?!?!
HA! Almost as cute as these two;)
Hudson's sweet buddy, Jackson, joined us for a morning full of fun!
Can you tell my sister used to be a teacher?;)
We all had such a great time...
but the kids especially LOVED the parachute.
LOVE these two girlie-girl cousins!
Such a fun morning together!
Sophie's chose Frozen Valentine's this year. #NoSupriseThere
I printed them out for her, but she totally put each one together herself.
She was quite proud of her work, and cannot wait to pass out these little goodies to her friends on Friday.
While perusing Pinterest, Hudson and I came across these adorable Minion Valentines.
He totally got a kick out of them and immediately said he wanted to make them for his preschool friends.
A Twinkie turned Minion=THE perfect least for a 5 year old;)
When you are in the Third Grade, your Valentines definitely cannot be mushy AND cannot be too cutesy either. There's a very fine I've been told.
Riley is ALL about Big Hero 6 these days,
so thankfully, Baymax saved this boys Valentine debacle.
And when you're in fifth grade, you start contemplating if you should do the whole valentine thing at all. Thankfully, this boy is still such a sweet heart, and when candy is involved, he's usually 100% IN!
He found these FUN soccer Valentines online, which fit him to an absolute tee! We ordered soccer covered chocolate balls off of Amazon, and BOOM, these Valentines were fifth grade approved;)

We are officially ready to celebrate the Day of LOVE!!!
