Labor Day Parade!

Saturday morning we got up and headed out to our little town's annual Labor Day parade!

Last year was the first year we got to participate IN the actual parade by riding on a float sponsored by our adoption agency.

This year again, we had the privilege of riding on our agency's float!

It was a BEAUTIFUL morning...

and the temperature was PERFECT for a parade!

The kids had a blast passing out candy to the spectators as we rode down the parade route.

Corban even had a chance to pose with Sir Purr, the Carolina Panthers mascot (who was also a part of the parade)!!
What a treat for him!

What a fun morning for our family, and a GREAT way to kick off our Labor Day weekend!

It was a lot of fun last year. Wish we could have made it this year. We might make it an every other year thing since we are 3 1/2 hours away. Your family looks beautiful as always. Hope all are well. Hope to see you in November at the CAS event in Denton, NC.

I've been following your blog for a while. Love to see your family and all the beautiful faces.
I wasn't sure if someone mentioned this before, but most states have foster child confidentiality laws that do not allow pictures or identifying information on the web, newspapers, etc. of wards of the state.

I do not mean This is to sound like a judgment or an accusation. I worked with foster children as a caseworker before I became a mom and my parents took in foster children for over 10 years. I am fully aware of the hardcore, heartwrenching world of the foster care system.

I admire and love what your family is doing through adoption and cherishing the least of these.

I just thought you might not be aware of certain confidentiality laws that require keeping a tight lip and information on a foster child's placement and situation. Full-faced Pictures on a blog may be violating that depending on your state even if you don't use her real name.

Thank you so much for sharing your life with all us strangers.
Blessings and kindest regards,
J.
