Tuesday Mornings and Silly B@ndzs!?!?!?

Tuesdays are my FAVORITE day of the week! It's my Bible study day and I so...look forward to this special time. My sister, Allison, has been coming over the past several Tuesday mornings, so the babies can stay home and don't have to go into the church nursery. The babies have been sick so... much lately that I don't want them sharing their germs, or picking any other germs up.

They LOVE their time with Auntie Al.
She is so...good with them!!! She plays with them and takes them outside for fun!
They always have a BLAST!!

Riley gets to go with me to church. He is not in preschool this year,
so he LOVES his Tuesday morning play time. He has made so... many wonderful friends in his little class. He talks about them ALL week long!

His teacher is Miss Jean-Ann, and she is the sweetest thing ever.
Riley absolutely ADORES her.

 okay...so changing gears a bit...
Have you heard of these things called Silly B@ndz????

They seem to be the new craze right now--at least at Cor's school. Corban has come home every day for the past week just begging for these silly things. All they are, are colored rubber bands which look pretty normal on your arm. But take them off and they snap into the shape of a creature or object. According to Cor, ALL the kids at school have them! They like to trade and play with them on the bus. Well, I finally caved in and decided he could get some. I mean they are just silly bracelets--right!?!? So I spent Tuesday afternoon calling around to several stores trying to find these bands. Apparently, they are hard to find and when stores get shipments in, they sell out rather quickly. Well, lucky for us, when I called our local toy store, they had just got a fresh shipment in THAT morning. When Corban got home from school, I surprised him and told him he could go pick some out!!
He was over. the. moon. with excitement. You would've thought it was Christmas morning again!
Anyway, we loaded up the van and headed to Learning Express.
Seriously ya'll, I had no idea how much these things would cost though. Of course, when we got there Riley wanted some too and he and Cor couldn't agree on the same pack, so I caved AGAIN and bought them each a pack. Each pack of 24 bands was five dollars!!!!
I spent TEN BUCKS on two packs of RUBBER BANDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh. my. word!!!!!! I still can't believe I did that.
(shhhhh.....Shane doesn't have any idea how much I spent on these silly things!)
While we were in the store, their phone was ringing off the hook.
Every single call was about these Silly B@ndz!!

All I could think about was..."Man...I wish I would've invented these things!"

Have you bought any Silly B@ndz yet???

My hubby is a violin teacher and he's gotten silly bands as rewards for kids who practice. We've had the hardest time finding them though! Kirkland's {of all places} had packs for 3.99...I stocked up! I think it's so crazy how basically rubber bands are such a huge rave with the kids!!

I've heard about those bracelets. Takes me back to my day when slap bracelets were cool.

SO bummed to miss you guys yesterday morning!
YES, we have the silly bracelets here, too! They are all the rage! I have quickly gotten tired of picking them up all over the house, so I have instituted a Silly B@ndz "jail"...when I pick them up they go into the bin & if someone wants it back, they have to do a chore for me!
I haven't purchased any myself yet, but will have to keep an eye out for them!

Ugh!!! These things are definitely silly! Honestly I just thought they were like those bracelets we all used to wear. But I quickly found out how much they cost...good grief!!! I'm thinkin...how much do they cost to make? how much profit do they make off of one of these? I agree...why did WE not think of this? Seriously!!!??

They are a big thing at the girls school too. I didn't know anything about them until last week. Apparently they are causing such problems in classes that they have been banned from the school altogether. So far the girls haven't asked for them yet and now knowing what they cost, I hope they don't ask.

As far as I know those bracelets have reached Topeka yet!

I LOVE LOVE that your sister come over to watch the kids, how sweet. I don't enjoy taking my children to the nursery during the week and most weeks it is twice for two MOPS and BSF (Bible Study Fellowship).
This time of year has been horrible with sickness. We had BSF today and I am praying my kids don't get sick bc we have a mini vacation this weekend.

I figured since I was going to fellowship and grow closer with God He'd take care of me :)

Have a great day!

Oh yes, Silly Bandz! I find these things all over the house. Madison got 2 packs for her B-day from her cousins in Atlanta and we had no idea what they were. They have not hit FL yet, but when they do, she will be ready!

Silly Bandz are all the rage down here in Florida too! My girls love them! Every morning my girls will put on their uniforms (they go to private school) and accessorize with a ton of them up their arms, lol! Somehow, we have over 100 of those silly things, lol! Oh they have also become the "must have" thing in goodie bags at birthday parties here too-which resulted in my sweet husband having to race to Learning Express as soon as I heard the Princess ones had came in to secure some for my daughter's birthday (and he could not believe the price). I did find some at Walgreens the other day for 2.99, and they were cars. :)

The bands have been banned in Abbie's class! But the kids pull them out on the bus. She only has a couple... gifted from friends. We have NOT taken the plunge. Actually, we were in Brilliant Sky looking at their limited selection several weeks back... Abbie was not willing to spend her own $$ on them!!! Blessings!
